Balluff BIC Inductive Coupler (P/N: BIC 0071). Non-contact inductive coupling system for contactless power and data transmission across air gaps. Enables IO-Link signal and power transfer to moving, rotating, or detachable machine components without physical connectors.

Our inductive couplers offer a flexible and wear-free solution for the contactless transmission of energy and data via an air gap, eliminating the need for mechanical plug contacts and slip rings. This technology enables high productivity through fast format and tool changes.Signal transmission: The inductive coupling systems are designed for up to eight sensor signals. They enable unidirectional communication from the sensor to the controller.IO-Link signal transmission: Our inductive couplers for IO-Link signal transmission enable bidirectional communication between the IO-Link master and IO-Link device. Contactless signal transmission to the IO-Link standard requires no parameterization, which ensures immediate communication. With a fully-fledged IO-Link interface, events, parameter and process data can be exchanged directly, regardless of the IO-Link revision status. With the help of IO-Link transmission, additional hardware (IO-Link hub) can be used to collect sensor data and control actuators.Power supply: Our inductive couplers for power supply transmit energy without contact, making mechanical plug contacts superfluous. This results in wear-free connections that enable energy to be transmitted cost-effectively. This increases flexibility and efficiency in production.
