Technical Specs


Overview

As of March 31, 2022 Octopart APIv3 will no longer be supported. As of June 30, 2022 this version will be completely disabled.

Technical specs are the quantitative and qualitative attribute values which describe a part's technical characteristics (e.g. capacitance, input voltage, color). In Octopart APIv3 and Nexar Legacy API REST the technical specs for a given part are available via the specs property attached to each part. For a complete description of the Part object schema please consult the REST API Documentation.

Since the specs that pertain to each part vary from part to part and category to category, it's often useful to know which specs are relevant to a given search query so you can present a user with available filtering options. In this scenario it's possible to perform a spec drilldown to see which specs are relevant to the search and what the available filters are.

On the other hand, if you already know which technical spec you want to filter on then you can apply a filter directly without performing a spec drilldown first. To aid in this application we present a list of technical specs that are searchable in the API.
